Beer lovers can be spoilt for choice in Mumbai. Indeed, with the rise of microbreweries and new-age beer brands, the hardest decision you have to make is deciding where to go. Doolally Taproom

Established in 2009, Doolally Taproom started out as Pune’s first microbrewery. Six years after opening its first outlet, the microbrewery opened its doors for Mumbaikars in 2015 with an outlet in Bandra (that later shifted to Khar). With a wide variety of snacks on their menu, Doolally Taproom is known for their fresh in-house brewed beers that are worth a try. Popular beers on their menu include Apple Cider, Belgian Wit, Marzen, English Bitter, English Brown Ale, Brut IPA and Raunch Bier. Doolally Taproom is preferred by many also because of its simple yet modern interiors and the range of board and card games. You can hang out with your gang and enjoy your beer while playing some crazy board games at their outlets.

Good To Know : They are pet-friendly and also serve pet food.

Toit

Toit originally hails from Bangalore and opened in Mumbai in late November of 2017 replacing the iconic Blue Frog. It quickly became popular amongst Mumbaikars due to its funky interiors and its signature beers. Toit’s beers are handcrafted at their brewery located in Sanaswadi, Pune. Toit believes in experimenting and providing their customers with new tastes, thus their beers are made with natural ingredients, imported malt, and yeast without the use of chemicals, colour and preservatives. The beers in their menu include Basmati Blonde, Tin Tin Toit, Toit Weiss, Colonial Toit, Kilnaleck Red and Dark Night. Apart from all the beers they also have some amazing cocktails and mango-infused beer. With wooden rafters and enough amount of space between the tables, Toit ensures their customers have a comfortable and relaxing evening.

Good To Know : They organize brew tours to their brewery in near Pune, Maharashtra.

Cost : A pint of beer costs INR 350 and half pint of beer costs INR 250. You can also request a sample tray of six beers for INR 325.

Thirsty City 127

Located right across from Toit, Thirsty City 127 took over Mumbai’s first brew-pub The Barking Deer. Established in 2017, its interiors are covered in art deco style that helps to break the typical taproom setup. Mixed with European styles and Jazz era vibes, the bar welcomes you with its golden coloured monogram on the floor and a lot of exciting craft beers and snacks to choose from. They also have a killer craft cocktail menu. Thirsty City 127 offers the following craft beers Thirsty Simona, Happy by Thirsty, Kick Ass Kolsch by Thirsty, Thirsty Lennox the Knight, Thirsty Sexy Pig, Thirsty Ninja and Thirsty Miss Sweet Lips. With its superb setup, this brewery surely won’t disappoint you.

Brewbot eatery and Pub Brewery

The first brewery to begin operations in Mumbai’s suburbs, Brewbot brews its beers in front of its customers. Established in 2014, Brewbot gained popularity not just because of its vibrant-coloured interiors but also the low-priced craft beers. Their list of craft beers includes beers from around the world such as like Kolsch (Germany), Belgian Wit (Belgium), Draft Punk (United States), Outcider (France), Mystery Pale Ale (United States), Floating Head (Germany) and Black Mamba (United Kingdom). Brewbot has wooden interiors and a colourful bar making it an ideal place to grab a drink along with your friends and munch on some lip-smacking snacks.

One of the finest micro-brewery in Pune city, Independence Brewing Company Taproom found its way in Mumbai and opened its first brewery here in early October 2016. Unlike other taprooms and brewpubs in Mumbai, this one purely serves craft beers like Belgian Wit, Hefeweizen, Hoppy Blonde Ale, Burbon Oak Aged, Brown Ale, Four Grain Saison (slightly spicy in taste), Ixcacao (a mix of chocolate and vanilla flavours), Method to Madness and their latest creation – Whiskey Wager.
