With Holi just around the corner, this is the perfect time to go thandai-hunting. Thankfully, we’ve curated a list of places that are serving the drink to make it easy for you to concentrate on other aspects of the festival – namely where to find organic colours if you’re still considering playing outside. If you’re like most people, you’re probably on the verge of cancelling Holi plans for this year thanks to coronavirus. In that case, having a thandai session is a must-have to ensure your stay-at-home Holi plans are a success. Here are 10 places from where you can order or collect all the Thandai you need.

Angrezi Dhaba, Dadar West

This ‘dhaba’ in the middle of the city has an intriguing mocktail called Jamaican Thandai (INR 399) made of coconut cream, coconut fudge, orange and pineapple juice. If you’re in the mood for a slightly different type of thandai than the regular ones out there, the Jamaican Thandai would be an apt choice.

Bayroute, Multiple Outlets

Bayroute serves one of the most authentic Middle-Eastern cuisines we’ve had and we’re big fans of their signature Hibiscus Cooler that’s just apt for sultry hot days that the city is currently witnessing. Over and above, you can also try thandai from their menu.

The Culture House, Girgaum

The Culture House is known for giving a spin to classic drinks with options like Kutchi Beer and Khajur Badam Shake on offer among others. It’s most endearing drink though is the Thandai made of almond, fennel seeds and cooling rose petals. Have one and you’ll most likely be tempted to order another one.

Delhi Highway, Lower Parel

If you’re a purist and don’t like too many additions or modernization, then the Kesar Thandai at Delhi Highway Ancient Indian Cuisine in Lower Parel won’t disappoint. With milk, saffron and carefully chosen spices, the Kesar Thandai gets full points for sticking to its tried and tested version.

Juss By Sindhful, Khar

At just INR 150 a pop, the thandai from Juss By Sindhful is a safe choice. The Thandai is also a good alternative from its traditional variant as its tempered with ingredients like mint, strawberry, almonds etc. It’s a good idea to try one before ordering in for more.

Classic and traditional, that’s the Thandai you’re likely to find at Tantra. The restaurant’s Kesari Thandai (INR 275) with saffron and nutmeg is as traditional as it gets. Die-hard fans of the drink ,your search for authentic Thandai ends here.

The Sindhi Kitchen, Santa Cruz

If you’re feeling too lazy to step out and try Thandai outside, why not bring it home instead? The Sindhi Kitchen has curated two different versions of Thandai just for the occasion and offers delivery via Zomato or by calling on 9326171966. As a bonus, you get to try Thandai for one of the cheapest prices on this list as well. A 300 ml bottle costs INR 110 while a 600 ml bottle is for INR 210.

Sante Spa Cuisine, Bandra Kurla Complex

To go to Sante Spa Cuisine and not try their Thandai Milkshake is a bad idea indeed. The health-food focused vegetarian restaurant is a peaceful haven where environmental concerns are taken care of right from using wooden cutlery over ceramics to reduce its carbon footprint as well as having an extensive gluten-free and vegan menu. This Holi, we recommend you visit the place if you haven’t already and try their Thandai Milkshake among other healthy drink options.
