With the end of 2021 comes a list of collectable bottles that you need to add to your collection. This year’s limited-edition game is especially strong with some amazing bottles up for grabs – if you can get your hands on them in time that is.
Without further ado, here are five of the most coveted limited-edition bottles that you need to have your eye on.
1 – Grover Zampa’s Signet Wine Range
Grover Zampa’s pedigree in the wine business speaks for itself. Its new range of red wines, called Signet, is here to take the legacy forward and is available in five varietals. Signet is India’s first wine range to be aged in foudres, amphoras, and concrete tanks and is one of the most premium wines in the country.
Signet reveals delicate aromas of single-vineyards hand-picked Shiraz, estate bottled and their variation with different ageing techniques. All wines are unfiltered to retain their natural mouthfeel and represent the five maturation processes used to create the range.
The five varietals include Signet Spectrum, a dry red wine that is a blend of Shiraz, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet, Franc, and Muscat with a deep cherry red colour that’s been fermented and aged for 12 months in concrete egg-shaped tanks; Signet Shiraz (Amphora) that is fermented and aged for 12 months in terracotta clay Amphora, this red wine runs a deep garnet red; Signet Shiraz (2L Foudre), a well-balanced wine that contains soft tannins and medium body, slightly oaky finish with a sublime ending palate that is fermented for 12 months in 2000 litres French oak foudre; Signet Shiraz (1L Foudre), with its hint of fruit and beautiful resinous pepper on the finish that is fermented for 12 months in 1000 litres French oak foudre and Signet Shiraz (24 months French Barriques) that is matured in 225 litres French oak barrels for 24 months and 12 months in bottle, giving this dry red wine rich aromas of red berry, prune, vanilla and tobacco.
The range is exclusively sold from Grover Zampa’s cellar doors in Bangalore and is priced at INR 4000.
