You don’t have to be health-obsessed to know that drinking healthy beverages can help your body in more ways than one. Of course, this doesn’t mean that you go out and invest in juicers or start drinking smoothies all the time. Instead, start small and invest in these quick and simple drinks at home to get started on a healthy diet of drinks.
This age-old natural health drink is rich in vitamins, minerals and electrolytes like sodium and potassium. It is also readily available in the market. Coconut water contains low calories and carbohydrates making it a perfect energy drink for sportspeople. Due to the presence of amino acids, coconut water also helps your body to respond to stress after a heavy workout and helps in repairing muscular tissues. Drinking coconut water before meals prevents over eating and consuming it after a meal helps in quick digestion and prevents bloating after meals.
2) Lemon juice
With high Vitamin C content, lemon possesses immense health benefits right from helping to reduce weight to maintaining the pH balance of the body. Lemon water also prevents anemia (iron deficiency) since it contains both citric acid and Vitamin C. Lemon fiber helps to improve digestive system. You can make lemon juice easily at home – just squeeze a lemon into a glass of room temperature water, stir well and your drink is ready. For better results, remember to include the lemon pulp and not just the juice.
Buttermilk is found in many Indian households – and with good reason. It is prepared by churning few spoons of curd and water along with taste-enhancing ingredients such as cumin powder, black pepper, ginger, green chillies and coriander leaves. This spicy Indian drink not only helps in improving digestion but acts as a natural treatment against swelling, irritation, body heat, dehydration etc. Buttermilk has less fat and is a source of natural calcium. Due to the presence of Vitamin D and Vitamin B, buttermilk is often considered as the best choice to overcome body weakness.

Aloe Vera juice is a thick liquid juice made by scooping out the flesh or pulp from Aloe Vera leaves and grinding it in a mixer with very little amount of water. To prepare this amazing drink, all you need to do is separate the pomegranate seeds from the fruit wash and blend it in a mixer or a blender with some water. You may add some salt and black pepper for taste.

Turmeric milk, basically Haldi Ka Doodh for Indians and Turmeric Latte for everyone else, is another dink commonly found in Indian households. It’s a drink that the elders of the family swear by. It is prepared easily by adding half a tea spoon of turmeric powder to a glass of warm milk and a small amount of jaggery to add sweetness along with little doses of of ginger and cinnamon. This golden glass of home-made drink helps in the treatment of dozens of health conditions like liver issues, joint pains, digestive aliments, diabetes, healing of wounds and respiratory disorders. It is also beneficial during common cold and cough.
7) Sugarcane juice
A fresh glass of sugarcane juice is widely available across the country. Being rich in good carbohydrates, iron, protein and potassium, a glass of sugarcane juice acts as a great energy drink, especially during summers as it also helps to cool down the body temperature. Other than just being an energy drink, sugarcane juice also helps to strengthen liver and is considered as the best medicine to cure jaundice. It also helps to treat urinary infections, kidney stones and ensures its proper functioning.
8) Ginger-Mint-Pineapple-Lemon Juice
The combination of ginger, mint, pineapple and lemon juice is guaranteed to give the best weight loss results. Ginger regulates the temperature of the body; pineapple has enzymes that has anti-flammatory properties thus preventing bloating while lemon and mint not only enhances the taste but also improve the rate of digestion. To prepare green tea from tea leaves, all you need to do is boil water and allow it to rest for ten minutes. Later pour the hot water over green tea leaves for a minute before serving it. To prepare using tea bags, dip the tea bag in a cup of hot water and just sip it. Green tea is highly beneficial for weight loss and purifying the skin.
10) Ginger Tea
Ginger tea has immense health benefits for everyday health related issues like lowering stress and tension, improves blood circulation, respiratory issues and reliving nausea. It also purifies skin and aids in weight loss. Boil peeled and sliced ginger root in water for about ten minutes. Add one to two tablespoons of honey if you need to sweeten the beverage. You can also add one tablespoon of fresh lime juice to ginger tea to improve its taste.
